About Balancing The Noise

People meditating in a calm, serene environment.

Our Story

At Balancing The Noise, we believe that wellness is the key to a happy and healthy life. That's why we started our business, to help people achieve their wellness goals in a way that works for them.

I didn’t write that above. But I’m keeping the AI-generated content to illustrate the times. Plus, I do believe wellness is key to a happy and healthy life. But did I start this site to help people achieve their wellness goals? I don't have the necessary certifications.

Onto some of my contract work. I’m keeping the AI-generated picture too because, well, it’s a reminder of what I was feeling by 4 p.m. on any given workday.

Forgotten Coal Miners of Kentucky

I did contract work with TRT World as an Executive Producer on a documentary news series, helping shape stories from development through final delivery. In this episode, we traveled to Kentucky to meet coal miners, doctors and advocates navigating the decline of an industry that once powered entire communities. The story explored the realities facing coal country today, from disappearing jobs to the lasting health impact of Black Lung Disease, while also highlighting the very different perspectives surrounding coal’s future in America.

One exchange (at 14:20) stood out to me because it captured what can happen when people genuinely listen to each other, layer by layer. As Executive Producer it was important to me to include that moment because those are the kinds of moments I’m always looking for in storytelling — the human connection underneath differing viewpoints.

Veterans: Life After Serving

I did contract work with TRT World as an Executive Producer on a documentary news show.  My first time writing a script without editing, which was a whole new ballgame, shifting from executing the vision to directing it. I did get to edit the open, and along the way, learned a lot about veterans. I had a great team without whom I couldn’t have gotten it done in what felt like “500 jumping jacks in two minutes” time.
